Inspired by a rare archival photograph of Ayn Rand at her typewriter, taken in the early 1930s during the writing of We the Living. The original photograph is preserved in the Ayn Rand Archives, although the photographer remains unidentified in the published archival records.While remaining faithful to the historical image, Danny Katz transformed the black-and-white photograph into a richly colored oil portrait, emphasizing the vitality, optimism, and sense of purpose visible in the young Ayn Rand. His interpretation highlights the emotional qualities that inspired him in the original photograph - confidence, joy, and the excitement of creation.

Danny Katz (Timmurim) is an Israeli architect and painter whose work combines classical portraiture with contemporary realism.
